I had to go for a procedure at the Englewood hospital yesterday. While my overall experience was pleasant at the outpatient services desk and the actual procedure - what keeps on shocking me is how many times I need to enter the same information over and over again. I was never a patient at this hospital but when I called to make an appointment they took down all my information inclusive of a copy of the prescription for the procedure (which contains my PCP information). Yesterday morning I signed in and 20 minutes later I was called in with the “registration specialist”. She once again asked me for all my information and only then asked me for a copy of my license (I assume to ensure that I am who I am) - should this demographic information be entered in again? She then printed out the sheet, I signed and walked over to the destination department where I was handed about 4 forms which all contain the same demographic questions plus the delta HAQ? Why oh why? Why doesn’t the hospital have a Phreesia pad in every location? Is it pure economics? Is it crowd and demand control? Thoughts?
